Final

Artist Statement
My final digital imaging photography project would be creating miniature dioramas by using tiny people figures under the background of normal life-size objects. The concept behind those dioramas is to reveal the flip side of technology.
Each scene will be set up to tell a story between tiny people figures and their background.  Scene One: Two repairmen are standing in front of an unconnected IPhone charger and seems to try to fix it. Scene Two: A cook tends to get some ingredients for cooking, however, he needs to enter password through the security check. Scene Three: Policeman and unsafe digital privacy world. Scene Four: Postwoman and her mail. Fast and slow information exchange. Scene Five: Veterinarian and her weird hi-tech devices.
There are several reasons behind this project. First, the contrast in proportion and dialogue among those objects are interesting. Second, it is a representation of objects that I am daily using. Lastly, some of the works reveal social and perceptual changes in life when it comes to technology advancement. Though technology brings us convenience in our modern life, it creates problems.
1. It arouses privacy issues when it comes to internet.
2. We become too much rely on digital world and those hi-tech devices, iphone etc.
3. Sometimes we make things complicated on some simple tasks.
